- noun. - Lancashire-based Full-Stack Web Developer specialising in PHP, Javascript and UX. Name derived from the Hebrew word for "man" and "earth". Mentioned in the Bible (citation needed, may have been a different Adam).
With around 3-4 fun-packed years of professional PHP experience (both employed and freelance), I have a developed a solid set of skills in Object-Oriented programming, MVC architecture and system design, working with open-source frameworks as well as developing my own bespoke systems and tools.
I also have 2-3 years of Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3 development to my name. I've worked with popular frameworks and libraries as well as building my own RESTful, JSON-based framework, producing standards-loving, cross browser, accessible websites and apps for both desktop and mobile.
Beyond this, I consider myself an impassioned problem solver and UX enthusiast (I produce flow diagrams and wireframes like some process-driven mad man). I'm a big proponent of the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle in both code and visual design and firmly believe in good information design.
I've worked at all levels in projects of various sizes, including lead developer and project manager roles, through proposal, design and delivery. I've delivered independent projects as well as working with internal teams and outside contractors, all within tight deadlines and budgets.
Over many days (and nights), I've seen action in a wide variety of software battle zones including live and on-demand video streaming, secure booking and e-commerce, large-scale directories, subscription services, rich web applications, interactive installations, live display systems and content management systems. Thanks to some great employers, I've been able to build and implement these products for clients such as Microsoft, Nokia, VisitEngland, the NHS, the Police Federation, ATL and Preston Council.
Most importantly, I really like sandwiches and Ginsters pasties.

As Glasgows' lead developer I'm responsible for overseeing the implementation of client websites, event management and delegate registration systems, alongside the development of supporting systems, such as mobile apps, interactive kiosks and live information displays.
I'm also responsible for the ongoing development of internal systems and software, responding to changes in the company's client base and predicting the software requirements of clients and staff in the future.
Clients I've worked with include Microsoft, Nokia, VisitEngland, Police Federation, ATL and the NHS.
October 2010 – September 2011
Initially a six month internship as part of my PGC (and subsequently offered permanently), my role at Bespoke ranges from installing and customising e-commerce software, to designing and implementing complete solutions. I've been an active contact for a broad range of clients and have helped lead a number of complex and wavering projects to successful conclusions.

Freelance work in partnership with Jason Staerck. Projects include a fully customised order system (using the Joomla framework and CMS) for a client and a custom social network and classifieds system in partnership with tutors from the University of Central Lancashire.
